Welcome to the Earth Science Department at the University of Northern Iowa
The Earth Science Department has four major curricular areas: geology, astronomy, meteorology, and earth
science education. Degrees can be obtained in several areas, including Air Quality, Geology, Geology with Environmental
Science Emphasis, Earth Science, Earth Science - Interpretive Naturalist Emphasis and Earth Science Teaching.
Students have the opportunity to conduct independent research in geology, astronomy, meteorology
and earth science education, utilizing
the state-of-the-art facilities located in the department.
