A nice Sun dog observed on the morning of December 21, 2000 (the Winter Solstice!)
Same Sun dog

Halo seen on September 11, 2002. This is obviously a combination of two images pasted together - our camera doesn't have a wide enough angle lense to get the whole thing.

Partial Solar Eclipse - December 25, 2000

A view of the eclipse amongst the clouds. What lousy weather for an eclipse. Also this morning it was about -25 F outside - yikes!

The eclipse seen through a C-90 with a solar filter. Too many clouds!

The eclipse seen through a C-90 without a solar filter - don't try this at home kids!
The safe way to view an eclipse without a filter - project in through the telescope into your kitchen. Hey, it was -25 F outside, I wasn't about to do this out there!
